1. Identify parts of grammar while developing competency in manipulative skills.
2. Engage in a meaningful fitness and reading activity both requiring critical thinking and meaningful practice.
3. Perform a variety of fitness exercises as they relate to the principle of specificity.
4. Complete a muscle identification assessment.
5. Create fitness & sport related words using letters collected during a fitness activity.
TAKING THIS COURSE
This course consists of 1 lesson and a final exam.
The lesson consists of a video and or other lesson materials. For the final exam, participants can take a maximum of 5 attempts to achieve a passing score of 80% or higher. Participants who achieve a passing score can print out a NJAHPERD PD Hour certificate of completion. Participants who do not pass the final exam after 3 attempts will need to re-pay for and repeat the entire course to attempt to earn credit.
STUDENT REGISTRATION AND NJAHPERD COURSE INSTRUCTIONS
Participants will first have to register as a student by filling out and submitting a completed Innovative CEUs, LLC (ICEU). Student Registration Page .
After registration, click on the ICEU student Home page (Top Navigation button – HOME) to view all available NJAHPERD courses, and click Add to Cart to select the desired course.
After selecting one or more courses, the student may enter COUPON Code (if applicable) and complete the secure CHECKOUT process.
Course Completion Information:
A. 60 days to start course
B. Once course started, 60 days to complete course
After purchase, the course will show on the student Courses Not Started page. (Top Navigation button - Courses Not Started).
To begin the course, just click on the CLICK TO START link next to the course. Once a course has been started, it will then be moved to the Courses in Process, where course lessons (videos) may be viewed and completed.
Complete the Course Final Exam. Once the exam is passed, the course will be posted to the student Completed Courses page.
Complete the End of Course Survey on the Completed Courses Page in order to generate the course completion certificate. Certificates are always available for all completed courses on Completed Courses Page.

About the Instructor
Susan has recently retired as a Physical Education & Athletics Coordinator after teaching all grade levels for the past 22 years. She is passionate about improving student performance and understanding of health-related fitness concepts.
Susan earned her B.S. degree from Southern Connecticut University and received a Masters degree from Adelphi University in Exercise Physiology. She was Fitness Program Director and lead Exercise Physiologist at Philip Morris Companies, Inc. for thirteen years before moving on to education.
Susan has received several awards for her outstanding, innovative and quality Physical Education programs. Among those awards, Susan is most proud of being named the 2012- 2013 Bergen County Teacher of the Year; the only Physical Education teacher to be awarded this honor amongst all academic teachers. She was also selected as the 2012 NJAHPERD Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year and the 2013 SHAPE America Eastern District Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.
Susan has presented numerous professional workshops in dance, fitness and interdisciplinary P.E. connections on the local, state and national levels. The main focus of her teaching is fitness education; helping students improve their overall fitness levels through small sided games, creative movement, instant activities, sport fitness games and nutrition education.
Susan is also the president of check PE, an educational consulting company that is
committed to supporting and enhancing physical education programs for educators, businesses and individuals.
